sylvester stalloneSylvester Stallone was born on July 6, 1946 as Michael Sylvester Gardenzio Stallone in Hell's Kitchen, Manhattan. He is the oldest son of Francesco "Frank" Stallone Sr. and is the Italian hairdresser, as well being Jackie Stallone Sr., who is an astrologer/dancer. Frank Stallone Sr, his younger brother, is an actor, musician and hairdresser. Complications during childbirth caused the lower left part of Sylvester's face to be affected, resulting in the now iconic "snarling" appearance and slightly slurred speech. Due to the volatile family dynamics between his parents, Stallone spent his first years in foster care. The couple eventually divorced. Stallone took classes in drama at the American College in Switzerland before going to the University of Miami. Stallone quit school to pursue acting in New York City.
