Kirsten Simone Vandgsness was an American actress, playwright and police procedural crime drama series "Criminal Minds" that rose to prominence after she played 'Penelope Garcia.' Kirsten Simone Vangsness has also been a guest in two spinoffs of the series Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders' and Criminal Minds: Speculative Behavior. Though she's mostly an actress for TV, she has also done a few small parts in movies since her debut in the television show business in 1998. In the movie industry, she's known for her performance in "In My Sleep", "The Chicago 8" as well as "Kill Me, Deadly". She's also written pieces in the Los Angeles Times and co-wrote episodes on Criminal Minds. She helps rescue, rehab as well as adopts damaged or abandoned kittens.
